TIPS FOR WOOLLY BUGGERS

Two hand strip
Fish are used to seeing a start and stop technique on most streamers. A slow but steady two hand strip gets fish fired up.
Give it some pace
If a fish follows, pick up your stripping to mimic a fleeing baitfish. A little haste on the bugger will get that fish to commit.
Present it like a nymph
Chuck it upstream, let the fly sink, and slowly track the fly with your rod tip as it gets carried through a seam. Mend the line to create a dragless drift. If you feel a tug, you’ll need a hard hook set.
